Google has started reporting Google News performance in the Search Console report. They have recently updated the documentation in the Google Search Central blog.
“Today we are launching Google News performance reporting to help news publishers better understand user behavior on Google News on our Android and iOS apps, as well as on news.google.com.”
Publishers can use Google Search Console News reports to know how many times their content appeared in Google News and which type of content is getting maximum clicks. They can also find which content is engaging the most people on the site.
The report is similar to the other Search reports in the Google Search Console. You can find the report in the performance section along with Discover and Search Results. It contains the same metrics, such as Click, Impressions, and CTR. One can also filter the data by Country, Device and Dates for further drill down for more insights.
The Report will only appear for the sites which are shown in Google News. The websites which do not appear in Google News will not have this report in their Google Search Console interface.
Publishers are automatically considered for Google News, and their content will appear in the section if it follows Google News Content Policies. Needless to say, the content will also have to be of good quality and authoritative in the eyes of Google.

Google Publisher Center is a tool by Google that helps publishers share content to Google News by submitting URLs, Videos and RSS feeds to Google. Although the search engine will crawl News content through their regular web crawling, Google Publisher Center helps publishers with features that allow them to control their content’s appearance. Visuals can be decisive in getting a click on a Google News listing.

- Monetisation: Run ads in your Content Area in Google News App. Ad Serving is done through Google Ad Manager within the application.
Getting your content in the Publisher center does not guarantee its place in Google News, nor does it help in a ranking boost.
As Webmaster becomes more familiar with reading the Google News Report, they may start deriving more insights, improving performance in Google News.
