The brand we are talking about is a leading e-commerce website with over 100 million users, offering a wide range of categories and products, including fashion, fitness, skincare, home and furniture, electronics, accessories, kitchen items, and more. What sets it apart is its ability to provide products at competitive prices compared to other platforms.
The Objective
The goal of this project was to significantly improve search visibility and increase website traffic, focusing on enhancing non-brand clicks and impressions. Our key objectives were:
- Increasing organic keyword rankings

- Driving growth in search visibility and traffic
The Challenge
Several challenges hindered the website’s performance and search engine visibility:
- Duplicate Pages: The site had multiple variations of a single URL, leading to keyword cannibalization and SEO inefficiencies.
- Cluttered URLs: The URL structure was not user-friendly, with cluttered and complex URLs affecting search engine indexing and ranking.
- Limited Technical Bandwidth: Technical constraints limited our ability to make backend improvements quickly.
- Missing Content: The website lacked content and was not properly mapped to relevant keywords, which limited its search visibility and performance.
The Solution
To overcome these challenges and meet the objectives, we implemented the following detailed SEO strategy:
URL Optimization
- We created new, optimized category URLs that were clear, concise, and SEO-friendly, focusing on keywords relevant to the site’s offerings.
- All old, cluttered category URLs were redirected to the new URLs using 301 redirects, ensuring no loss of link equity and creating a cleaner site structure.
Content Optimization and On-Page SEO
- We conducted an in-depth content audit, identifying gaps and areas for improvement.
- Implemented on-page SEO strategies, including optimizing category pages with above- and below-the-fold content with relevant keywords along with internal linking.
- Optimized title tags, meta descriptions, canonical tags, & header tags to boost relevance for search engines.
Backlink Building
Launched a targeted backlink building campaign to increase domain authority and boost organic rankings. This included reaching out to industry-related sites for guest posts and link exchanges and other backlink building activities from authoritative websites like social bookmarking, image submissions, article submissions, & more.
Internal Linking and Footer Links
- To improve internal link equity and guide search engine crawlers, we optimized internal linking throughout the website.
- Implemented optimized footer links, ensuring that all critical category URLs were linked to from the site’s footer, enhancing the crawlability of important pages. Which helped in increasing the number of crawls on a daily basis.
